Treasuring God’s Truth in Your Heart

Here’s a list of fifty-two Bible passages to memorize—one for each week of the year. Memorization plants God’s truth in your heart, giving you nourishment for your soul, encouragement for your faith, and defense against temptation. As you get started, a few tips could help. First, make a plan. If you don’t make a commitment, it probably won’t happen. Second, a partner can keep you on track. Third, pray about it. And finally, try the following method: (1) on the first day, read the passage aloud ten times, then say it ten times without looking; (2) on the second day, repeat it ten times, looking only if you have to; (3) repeat the verse at least once daily for the rest of the week; and (4) use the same format each week, also repeating each previously memorized verse once daily.

Don, Thanks for this excellent resource. I have been working for a couple of months memorizing Ephesians. I am just about thru with chapter two. It has been a difficult challenge, but the benefits have been greater then the challenge. I find myself reflecting more thru out the day on those “wonderful Words of life.” Jeff
