This Sunday I have the privilege of leading the January Bible Study at Clifton Baptist Church in Franklin LA. My friend, Pastor Tony Hicks, asked if I would lead the study. I plan to cram an overview of 1, 2, and 3 John into three sessions. We will meet during the Sunday School hour, the main church service, break for dinner on the grounds, and wrap up the study with an afternoon session. I opted not to use the Lifeway material. Instead I plan to cover New Testament Survey type of material in the first and third sessions and preach 1 John 3:11-18 in the main service. Scott Lamb points to some good resources for further study.
My friend, pastor Eddie Exposito, of Sovereign Grace Fellowship in Slidell, LA will preach at Lakeshore in my absence.

Verse of the Day- Isaiah 55:6-7"Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."
