In every high and stormy gale…
Sunday, October 2nd, 2005 | Hurricane Katrina
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name. When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil. His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay. When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne. On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

Pastor Elbourne, I’m an online friend of Donna-Jean in NJ, whose ‘Chapel on the Hill’ group is preparing for a trip to lend a hand to your and your church body; I will be printing out photos and information about your church so that our church here in Faith can be ‘praying ahead’ of their arrival and also, praying for peace and strength and daily comfort for you and all in the body of Christ at your church and in your town and state, too. The words to “My Hope Is Built” brought tears as I read them and sat here thanking God that He *is* our Solid Rock when all else is ’shifting’ and ’sinking sand’. Praying for you,
ann in faith, a real town in nc
Pastor, I have just spent the last two weeks at Bay St.Louis and New Orleans at NOBTS as chaplain for Ga. disaster relief. I just came across your web site as I was praying for the churches in your area. My heart goes out to all of you. Through the pain and tears God Still reigns and I know He will do great things through the churches in the area. I want you to know we are there for you. We as a people of God will survive and become stronger through this tragedy. It’s time for the churches to shine becuase the world is watching! Please let us know what we can do to help.
In Christ,
Rev. Ron Brent
Pastor of Global Evangelism/Missions
Hebron Baptist Church
Chaplain Ga. Disaster Relief
